Grants Natural Whitening Hydroxyapatite Toothpaste 110g
Product Description
Grants Natural Whitening Hydroxyapatite Toothpaste is the ultimate toothpaste for brighter, stronger, and healthier teeth.
Powered by natural micro crystalline Hydroxyapatite (HA), which has been shown to naturally whiten, strengthen and remineralise your teeth, helping to restore their natural shine. Baking Soda gently removes stains while Coconut Oil works to naturally fight bacteria and promotes oral health. The minty fresh flavour keeps your mouth feeling fresh and clean all day long.
Grants Hydroxyapatite Toothpaste is a great alternative to Grin’s Hydroxyapatite Toothpaste for those who desire a stronger more minty fresh flavor.
What is Hydroxyapatite (HA) and what does it do?
Fluoride has been fighting cavities since the 50’s. But should you really brush with something that has a poison control warning? Enter hydroxyapatite. Don’t let that scientific name fool you – Hydroxyapatite (HA) is a naturally occurring mineral made of calcium and phosphorus and is actually the main mineral that our dental enamel is made of.
Hydroxyapatite is a building block for bones and teeth: it comprises 70-80% of the mass of your dentin and enamel and Hydroxyapatite is the best alternative to fluoride. Proven more effective to provide the necessary minerals to remineralise subsurface areas of the tooth, restoring the enamel to its near natural state, without changing the composition of the enamel.
Hydroxyapatite is not new by any means, in fact, it’s one of the most-studied bio materials in the world. Back in 1970, NASA developed hydroxyapatite for astronauts whose tooth density decreased because of the lack of gravity in outer space.
In 1978, a Japanese company acquired the patent from NASA and produced the first commercial toothpaste with hydroxyapatite as the active ingredient. Since then, hydroxyapatite toothpaste has been the gold standard for oral health in Japan.
When your teeth are exposed to bacteria, they lose two essential minerals: calcium and phosphate. This is known as demineralization. Hydroxyapatite replenishes these minerals—that’s called the remineralization process. As you brush with hydroxyapatite, your teeth absorb the minerals down to the root, which enables your teeth to remineralize from the inside out.
Nano-hydroxyapatite is typically the synthetic version of hydroxyapatite. It’s engineered to be tiny so it can penetrate the openings in tooth enamel. Nanoparticles like n-HA have their benefits, but they can also pose risks to the health of people by way of translocation of nano particles. In other words the potential for nano particles to enter the blood stream and deposit in unwanted locations such as other tissues and organs. That’s why they’re a divisive subject for the European Union.
Micro crystalline hydroxyapatite particles on the other hand are derived from all-natural bovine bone instead of being made synthetically. Despite being slightly larger than n-HA particles, a 2021 study found that micro hydroxyapatite toothpaste prevented more cavities than fluoride toothpaste. We feel that micro crystalline HAP is a safer option over nano HAP as the particle size limits the potential to surf the blood steam and wreck havoc.
The Hydroxyapatite in Grants Whitening +HA is a non-nano grade of hydroxyapatite and is of natural mineral origin. It is free from allergens, is GMO free and is suitable for vegans.
For those focused on restoring tooth enamel or cavity prevention, we recommend using together with our Pearl Powder as a dietary supplement.
