Emu Oil by Nxgen Biosciences 120ml
Emu Oil by Nxgen Biosciences 120ml
Product Description
Emu Oil by Nxgen Biosciences is an incredibly pure and potent oil, known as a ‘sacred oil’ by Australian Aboriginal descendants. It is valued for its exceptional skin penetrating properties, described by Dr Suzanne Mashtoub as “capable of penetrating all seven layers of the skin with ease.”
Due to its small particle size, emu oil can be used on the skin as well as taken orally. This is incredibly helpful for children and the elderly, offering an easy way to deliver its soothing, moisturising and nourishing properties to the whole body as well as locally.
Emu Oil by Nxgen Biosciences is naturally high in omega 3, 6 and 9 fatty acids (up to 70%), vitamins A, D, E, F & K2 MK-4, and antioxidants.
It is traditionally used to soothe joints and muscles, and to moisturise and nourish dry skin, dry scalp and the skin of the breasts in early postpartum. It also supports the appearance of fine lines and healthy hair.
Emu Oil by Nxgen Biosciences has no added ingredients.
Why does emu oil work well with cod liver oil?
The nutrients in emu oil go hand in hand with those in a fresh, raw cod liver oil because the vitamin K2 in emu oil complements the vitamin D3 in cod liver oil. Vitamin D3 “switches on” genes for certain proteins, and vitamin K2 activates those proteins.
- Vitamins K2 and D3 work together to support immune health.*
- Vitamins D and K2 work together to support healthy calcium metabolism.*
- Vitamins K2 and D work together to support heart health.*
- Vitamins D3 and K2 work together to support healthy bones.*
The MK-4 form of vitamin K2 is one of the stars of the show given how hard this “Activator X” fat soluble vitamin is to get from the diet.
Why we love vitamin K2
- Activates the vitamin K dependent proteins involved in nervous system and immune function.
- Supports healthy brain and nerve function.
- Supports gut health.
- Supports healthy development of the face and jaw.
- Supports mitochondrial health and energy production.
- Supports glutathione production and antioxidant defences.
- Helps direct calcium into the bones and teeth to keep them strong and resilient. Emu oil can be swished in the mouth for enamel remineralisation support before swallowing.
Research on the vitamin K2 family has grown enormously. MK-4 is the bioactive form of the vitamin, at work on the genetic and metabolic level and readily used by the body with no conversion.
Emu Oil by Nxgen Biosciences is independently tested for K2 levels, one of the very few emu oil brands to do so. Test results show K2 (as MK-4) at 4.2mcg per gram of emu oil, or around 425mcg per jar.
Common recommendations for K2 (including MK-4 and other forms) are 100 to 200 micrograms per day and sometimes more (Kresser 2017 & 2019; Masterjohn 2016).
A small amount of K2-MK4 taken with most meals is ideal. ¼ to ½ tsp emu oil three times a day may be the easiest way to do this, at any meal when you are not otherwise eating grass-fed or pasture-raised animal fats.
Emu Oil by Nxgen Biosciences is 100% pure and flows as a liquid at 25°C while firming at cooler temperatures. The traditional technique for making emu oil has been handed down by Aboriginal Elders, now combined with modern technology.
Quality is influenced by bird genetics, husbandry, diet and feed quality, growing conditions, climate, water quality and low temperature rendering. The low temperature rendering technique uses no deodorisers, bleaches, molecular distillation or hydrogenation, which would otherwise damage the nutrients.
Nxgen sources emu fat from the best Australian emu farms. The birds are raised in a natural habitat on a diet free of GMO feed, with no vaccinations, antibiotics, growth hormones, pesticides or chemicals.
Emu Oil by Nxgen Biosciences comes in a glass jar with CO2 flushing to keep oxygen out. There are no fillers, additives or chemicals. 100% pure. Keep in the fridge after opening for a scoopable consistency, or at room temperature for a more liquid finish.
Dosing Recommendations: Adults take 1ml three times per day with or after meals, or for extra support take 2ml three times per day with or after meals. Emu oil can be applied to the skin, taken internally or used in cooking, smoothies and drinks. It can also be applied directly to the teeth at night before sleep to support healthy enamel.
Emu oil on its own is much easier than swallowing a capsule. Scoop the emu oil onto a teaspoon, place it on the tongue and swallow with water, the same way you would a capsule. It’s that easy and much cheaper than capsules. There is no aftertaste.
For kids, you may like to chill the jar until firm and scoop out the oil for serving that way, or blend it into a smoothie (only cold drinks, never hot). Mums like to add it to porridge, fruit puree or yoghurt.
For children, take ½ml twice daily with or after meals, or for extra support 1ml twice daily with or after meals. Breastfeeding mums can also apply emu oil to their nipples as a nourishing balm, which is a lovely way for baby to share the nutritional benefits too. I LOVE how multi-functional emu oil is.
For healthy teeth we suggest using it with our Cod Liver Oil, any of our hydroxyapatite toothpastes and powders, Silica and/or Trace Minerals.
Storage Recommendations: Emu Oil by Nxgen Biosciences meets international food safety standards and has a 3 year shelf life when stored away from sunlight with the lid tightly sealed. Store in the fridge after opening. Amber glass jars are used to maintain quality.
